STRENTHENED ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT Plans and Volunteer Opportunities

To volunteer for any of these opportunities, please e-mail
AlumniEngagement at sinfonia.org with the following information:
- Your complete name
- Your chapter / school and year of initiation
- The committee(s) on which you’d be interested in serving
- Relevant experience and skills from outside the Fraternity (if applicable)
- Relevant experience in the Fraternity
- The amount of time you feel you can devote to committee work in an average week
You should expect a confirmation from a leadership team representative within a few days. Final selection of volunteers will occur in the weeks following your notification of interest in volunteering.
Publications Committee
Working on Objectives 1, 5 and 6

- Provide stock articles for inclusion in chapter alumni newsletters.
- Explore expansion of communications (content, frequency and/or electronic media).
- Develop a corps of volunteer contributing writers for communications.
- Encourage alumni to display their membership shingle prominently.
- Encourage alumni to reference the Fraternity in publicity biographies and resumes.
- Encourage alumni to wear their membership pins to concerts, special occasions, and on Founder's Day.
- Establish and implement expectations for chapters to involve alumni in recitals, events and scheduled programs.
- Develop dynamic affiliation recruitment materials for alumni associations.
- Focus print and electronic communications to alumni around inspiring brothers' continued fulfillment of Sinfonian ideals and supporting ongoing connections between Sinfonians.
- Remind alumni of the lifelong commitment and loyalty expected of a Sinfonian.
Information Task Force

- Offer support for chapter e-newsletters.
- Expand and enhance resources for alumni relations officers.
- Provide comprehensive resources to guide the opertaions of alumni associations and suggest successful activities, recognizing varying characteristics of individual associations.
- Engage collegiate chapters as active participants in the responsibility of routine updates of alumni contact information.
- Develop a means and procedure for notifying alumni associations when alumni move into the geographic area.
- Implement advanced methods of maintaining the accuracy and completeness of database information.
- Dramatically decrease and maintain lowest possible levels of "lost" alumni.
Alumni Involvement Committee

- Establish and implement expectations for chapters to involve alumni in recitals events and schedule programs.
- Develop an idea bank of possible alumni-friendly activities for collegiate Chapters (facilitating relationships between chapters and alumni).
- Encourage chapters to host alumni events and to invite local and chapter alumni to chapter events.
- Develop a corps of volunteer contributing writers for communications.
- Provide stock articles for inclusion in chapter alumni newsletters.
- Explore the establishment of chapter-based alumni clubs.
- Create additional alumni-focused national events.
- Expand volunteerism opportunities in service to chapters, alumni associations and the national organization
- Explore the development of a speakers' bureau program.
National Headquarters Committee

- Provide chapters with dynamic availability and interface with alumni lists.
- Implement advanced methods of maintaining the accuracy and completeness of database information.
- Dramatically decrease and maintain lowest possible levels of "lost" alumni.
- Explore the creation of a staff position devoted to communications, which would coordinate publications, websites, newsletters, etc.
