Plans and Volunteer Opportunities

To volunteer for any of these opportunities, please e-mail
MusicalFocus at sinfonia.org with the following information:
- Your complete name
- Your chapter / school and year of initiation
- The committee(s) on which you’d be interested in serving
- Relevant experience and skills from outside the Fraternity (if applicable)
- Relevant experience in the Fraternity
- The amount of time you feel you can devote to committee work in an average week
You should expect a confirmation from a leadership team representative within a few days. Final selection of volunteers will occur in the weeks following your notification of interest in volunteering.
Technology Committee
Working on Objective 3 & 5
Committee members needed: 5
Areas of experience desired: Proficiency in database and web-based programs to create and design resources.

- Provide an extensive online library of appropriate music for use in the MMM.
- Establish an online index and, where appropriate, downloadable copies of music composed by Sinfonians or commissioned by Sinfonia.
Reseach and Survey Committee
Working on Objective 1, 2, 4 & 6

- Encourage chapter and alumni association participation in local music advocacy/support efforts.
- Encourage individual member participation in music advocacy/support efforts.
- Facilitate national and chapter participation in nationwide music advocacy/support programs.
- Encourage chapters to observe this constitutional requirement in recruitment.
- Publish a list of suggested ways in which non-professional musicians can work to advance the cause of music in America.
- Increased focus on the musical activities/contributions of Sinfonians in the Fraternity’s internal communications vehicles.
- Publish guidelines for appropriate instrumental music in the MMM.
- Encourage the regular inclusion of music in chapter, province and alumni association gatherings.
- Provide numerous musical performances and participation opportunities at national events.
Action Committee
Working on Objective 3, 4, 5 & 6
Committee members needed: 10

- Provide comprehensive instructional resources for MMM participation by chapters and alumni associations.
- Provide an extensive online library of appropriate music for use in the MMM.
- Publish guidelines for appropriate instrumental music in the MMM.
- Create methods for chapters to coordinate musical activities and maintain musical quality.
- Create methods of distribution for unpublished Sinfonia songs and other instrumental and vocal music for use by chapters.
- Encourage the regular inclusion of music in chapter, province and alumni association gatherings.
- Provide numerous musical performances and participation opportunities at national events.
