ENHANCED VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT Plans and Volunteer Opportunities

To volunteer for any of these opportunities, please e-mail
VolunteerDevelopment at sinfonia.org with the following information:
- Your complete name
- Your chapter / school and year of initiation
- The committee(s) on which you’d be interested in serving
- Relevant experience and skills from outside the Fraternity (if applicable)
- Relevant experience in the Fraternity
- The amount of time you feel you can devote to committee work in an average week
You should expect a confirmation from a leadership team representative within a few days. Final selection of volunteers will occur in the weeks following your notification of interest in volunteering.
If you have ever volunteered for any nonprofit organization (including the Fraternity or others), or if you have an interest in improving the Fraternity's volunteer leadership processes, the following opportunities may be a good fit for you!
Goal 1: Provide appropriate recognition and appreciation of all volunteers.

- Survey how other organizations recognize volunteers.
- Review both formal and informal recognition programs of the fraternity.
- Create new and revise current "formal recognition" programs.
- Develop "best practices" of "informal recognition" for fraternity leaders.
Goal 2: Develop a comprehensive training program for each volunteer leadership position.

- Review current training programs.
- Survey current and past leaders about training needs.
- Review how other organizations train volunteer leaders.
- Develop "core training" modules (applicable to all volunteers).
- Develop / review "officer training" modules (applicable to a specific position).
- Develop training programs for recruiting new volunteers.
Goal 3: Develop the formal processes for recruiting, assessing, and sustaining the pool of volunteers.

- Survey current and past leaders for insight on evaluating volunteer positions.
- Develop assessment and accountability metrics for each volunteer position.
- Develop "work-flow" for conducting the assessment process.
Goal 4: Develop the electronic tools for managing recruitment, assessment, and monitoring the pool of volunteers.
